FYE Grant Forms

In addition to providing funds for class events, First Year Experience has a more formal structure for requesting funds to support the development of more extensive course events or course travel opportunities. Since 2012, FYE has helped support talks, presentations and exhibits with authors, artists, business leaders, environmentalists, scholars and innovators. Topics of these events have ranged from botany-inspired art and sensible financial management, to military urbanism and immigration policy. These grants will be awarded based on the availability of funds and the merit of the proposal.

FYE Faculty Course Campus Event Grant (Application - Word Doc)

Faculty are encouraged to submit proposals for campus events that are meant to move the discussion within and ideas behind their FYSM or LC out into the College and Charleston community. Funds can be used to plan a guest lecture, panel discussions, movies, etc. that will build on courses being given during the semester and engage all FYE students and the campus. The First Year Experience will provide funds up to $1,500.

*Deadline: Proposals can be submitted one month in advance, but due to limited funds, faculty are encouraged to submit at the beginning of each semester
